The saddest day of my life

26th of May. One of the saddest day of my life. The day where my favorite outlet of all time, Singapore Pools at Jurong West market has announced its closure to an unknown date. I am also not sure whether its temporary or permanent. The notice pasted on its door never stated clearly. That place has given me so many lovely memories. Now the next nearest pools outlet is almost 20 minutes away from me.

It is almost impossible that the particular outlet is not making any money. In fact, other than the one at Jurong point, I believed that this is the next busiest outlet if you compare to the others. My guess is they are shifting to a bigger location maybe in another place at the market. Whatever it is, it never gives us a proper explanation. As one of its biggest fan. there is no doubt about how hurt I actually am.

Hence I have decided to write a letter to the Government indicating my desire to take over this outlet. It will undergo a new revolution and I will ensure that the place will be even much busier than before.

Dear Government,
Following the closure of the Singapore Pools outlet at the Jurong West market, I felt that our Jurong has lost some flavor as that used to be such a distinguished landmark in Jurong.

Imagine Sentosa without the merlion. Or church city harvest without the babes. You do get my idea, don't you? Whenever friends ask where I live, no matter how much I explained to them, they just don't seem to know where I am referring to. But the moment I mention that very busy Singapore Pools, they will go," orh...there ar...".

Now whenever I walked past that Pools outlet that is already no more, I will always give a sigh of regret. And it's not just me. A couple of days ago, I saw a middle-aged man crying uncontrollably outside the outlet. His friends had to drag him away as he was making such a spectacle. To him, it seemed that something close to his heart had been taken away and I do share his sentiments. Saturdays and Sundays will never be the same again without the operation of the Singapore Pools. Especially that outlet.

And so, my suggestion to you is that we should re-open that place and better still, buy over the space right beside the shop where a printing shop stands. That particular printing shop doesn't even have a tenth of the customers that frequent Singapore Pools. By buying over that space, we customers will not need to cramp in the small but cosy space in the Singapore Pools.

Also, in order to get back the old customers or even attract new customers, there must be a new revolution. We need a capable leader, someone worthly and respectable enough to lead the Pools to even greater heights. That someone must be born locally in Jurong, intelligent and also must be very familiar with the working operations of the Pools. He must also be someone who has always been donating regularly to the Pools income.

Sir, no one else fits the criteria more fittingly other than Yours Truely. Yes, I am a local boy who is more than willingly to share this pleasant burden with you and I am sure that with your money and my intelligence, we will make a perfect team. Of course, I am not 'all talks and no walk". Below is my new proposal for the 'new' Singapore Pools. I am sure that sooner or later, all the other outlets will start to emulate us and we will be the standard bearer.

First of all, coming to Singapore Pools shouldn't be just for gambling. We must create a cosy ambience that will make the customer's stay pleasant. The longer they stay, the more betting slips they will draw. The more they draw, the more we earn. It's a simple theory really. There shall be new themes everyday.

For example, Monday will be ladies' night, whereby ladies visiting us on Mondays will be entitled to a free drink and with every purchase up to a $1000 dollars, she will be given a quick pick 4D number on the house. Men's night will be the same as well.

Wednesday will be Mambo night. There will be loud music non-stop and each and everyone is encouraged to dance his or her way to the ticket counter to purchase his or her ticket. People who are sporting enough will be announced our prom queen or king and his prize will be a carton full of betting slips. Now you won't need to snatch with the others. All you need is to draw your choice at home and then come to the counter straightaway for your purchase.

Thursday can be uniform night. Models will be engaged wearing all types of uniforms of your fantasy and will accompany you as you queue up for your purchases. Believe me, you will wish that the queue never ends.

Friday shall be the day where you can come with the tickets which you have lost money on and if the amount lost totalled up to $5000, you can exchange for a free meal at the nearest kopi-tiam right at the corner. See, those slips of paper will not just be known as betting slips anymore. They are now also known as dining vouchers.

Of course, we will have VIP cards for the high-rollers. These VIPs will be entitled to free buffet right in our outlet while they queue for their purchases. There will also be stamps which work the same way as bubble tea do the last time. On the 10th purchase, you will be entered into the monthly lucky draw whereby the winner will win a fablous prize of 2 cartons of betting slips.

Yes, sir, I can feel your excitement even when I am writing this. Without a doubt, with me at the helm, Singapore Pools will never be the same again. I await your approval and hope for the chance where we shall meet and discuss the finer details of my proposal. I will be waiting for your reply.

Yours Truely,
Malmon Colo

The musical baton

Mr Gerome aka Zenith passed me the musical baton and upon realising it when I was reading his blog, I thought I should be polite enough to receive it.

The musical baton is something new and works in a style similiar to the chain letter, except that it is harmless and wouldn't curse you like the latter. It is whereby you have to fill in some of the music available in your com and display it in your blog. Since I haven't been blogging for quite some time, I think this should be interesting. Well, here goes:

Total volume of music files on my computer:
739MB with 181 files and 21 folders

The last CD I bought was:
The classics of Andy Lau

Song playing right now:
Ai wo hai shi ta- david Tao

Five songs I listen to a lot, or that mean a lot to me:
Wo zhen de shou shang le- Jacky Cheung
Shall We Talk- Eason Chen
Ai wo hai shi ta- David Tao
Yin di wu yong- Andy Lau
Mo ri zhi lian- Zhang Zhi Chen

Five people to whom I’m passing the baton:
You, you, you, you and you.
I don't practise favorism, so whoever you are, as long as you are reading this blog, I am passing it to you. You are welcome to leave your answers in my comment page.

Upon completing this 'questionaire', I realised I am such a 'chinese' person. This questionaire made me realise I am so 'not hip'. Almost 90% of my songs are chinese or cantonese. So if anyone have any nice recommendation for English songs, do send me. I don't mind oldies as well. My MSN add is malmoncolo@hotmail.com.

Warning: The contents below is for people aged 18 and above and is mentally mature. Being physically 'mature' is not counted.
Anyway I have a new inspiration. I am thinking of setting up a new questionaire entiltled 'Passing the porn baton', where you have to fill in the porn details you have in your computer. Don't shy hor. I think up to 80% of guys out there sure have porn in your com. And so, I shall go first.

Total volume of porn files I have in my computer:
Zero. (All burnt into CDs liao. Nah nah nah)

Last porn played:
The man with the gas tank.

5 all time favorite porn or means a lot to you:
When the peach gets ripe(volume 1,2,3,...........)
Sex and Zen(volume 1,2,3,.........)

I think I have reached more than 5. Damn it. I just couldn't make up my mind. I guess...I just love Shu qi. :)

On getting married and having children

My cousin dropped a bombshell on his family and mine as well by annoucing that he needed to get married because his girlfriend is pregnant. It certainly came as a shock to me as my cousin is only a year older than me and still currently serving his NS. This is yet another case of carelessness at its very worst.

I am not too sure how many months his girlfriend is pregnant. After all I only see him a few times every year on special ocassions like chinese new year or my late grandmother's birthday. Even when we met, it is just the ocassional hi and nod of heads. Also I don't think its an issue you are prepared to talk nor discuss with someone younger than you.

I have only seen his girlfriend 2 or 3 times but I heard from my mother that they have been together around 2 years or so. So I supposed its ok to get married and start living together. At least they are listening to the Government and having children and I shall be expecting a nephew in a few months time.

I honestly don't think they are really ready for a baby this early. The financial strain will be too much I think. Now he had to get ready for the marriage and an estimated amount of $20000 have to be spent. It is really expensive to get married in Singapore, especially if you are a chinese.

They are not the first pair I know to get married this early. I have some ex-classmates who are also married due to such circumstances. Mind you, some of them are only 18 or 19 years old some time back then. But apparently they are all settled and living quite happily and so I supposed they are quite lucky. I have heard of many cases whereby these young couples get divorced after 2 or 3 years of marriage. What happens to the child eventually I don't know.

Young couples nowadays really should have been more careful. A few minutes of ecastasy could result in a lifetime of regrets and burdens. The best way of precaution is to avoid premature sex. It is better to stay a virgin till you get married(I don't want to die one though).

Anyway whats done is done and a child could be a blessing in disguise. At least for me I think I will really settle down and work hard to provide for my family. After all, I have always love children, a boy preferably :).

Mr Low Life

Today I celebrate my 35th day anniversary as a trash after graduating from Poly. Although there are times where I feel so extremely sian without a single thing to do, I honestly feel I am really enjoying life now. I do look through some of the job ads in the newspaper and apparently, there is not a single company currently looking for a new CEO. I guess I have to continue with being an entrepunter, at least till the current football season ends.

CMPB finally called back after a week or so. They said that there have been errors on the school's part. The school states that I will only graduate in year 2006 and that is why I wasn't issued a medical. The school has meanwhile investigated and realizes its error and even sent an apology letter to me. CMPB also said that I should be receiving my letter soon in around 2 weeks time. I guess maybe the school has already reserved a place for me because they never ever thought that I could possibly graduate in 3 years. Bogus student mah, what more can they expect.

I, on my part sent an email to the Singapore Police Force enquiring the signing-on details but have yet to receive a reply from them. Talk about efficiencey in Singapore. While waiting for the medical letter from CMPB, I will also be having one eye on my email. Hopefully, I will receive both real soon.

Last week was pretty happening for me. I went to Malaysia with my Secondary school ex-classmates and had a great time. I also had a few mahjong sessions and it really had been a long time since I played mahjong. Anyone interested in a game do call me will ya? Because I am really very very free.

I watched Divergence a couple of days ago. It sucks honestly, having looked to promise to be another blockbuster. Anyone planning to see this movie, if I were you, I would rather wait for its VCD release.

Anyway, I finally struck 4D for the first time in my 22 years of life. Although its only a small sum of $60, $60 is a small step towards my first million before the age of 30. I think I will strike TOTO tomorrow.

I think I will be very busy these 2 nights with the champions league games. I need a break. Think I will take a little nap first. TATA.
