I want to be policeman..I wan to be good man...

It has been a month since I graduated from Poly. Currently I am living a 'retiree' life, not that I mind because I am enjoying it very much. You see, to me Mondays and Saturdays don't make a difference anymore.

Quite a number of my friends have been enlisted in NS and are going in somewhere in June to protect cillivians like Yours truely. For all my friends going to Tekong soon, good luck and don't worry about the Hantu story I have been telling you. I made it all up. Tekong don't have hantus, they only have potiananks.

As for me, I have not even received my medical letter yet, which means I am still far away from being enlisted. Most people know about my intentions of signing on as policemen. Why policeman you may ask. Well, of course it is to uphold law and justice in Singapore and my aim is to bust the bookie synicate in Singapore so that I can be the ultimate bookie.

2 days ago, I decided to call up CMBP and enquire on my medical letter. The guy on the other line was very polite. He asked for my IC number and helped me to check my status. He even stated that mine is an unusual case and he needed some time to check with his superior. He told me he will get back to me as soon as possible. His 'as soon as possible' took 2 days and counting and I am still waiting for his reply.

Apart from enquiring on my medical status, I also spoke to him about my desire to join the police force and he gave me a number which he said is the police recruitment hotline. He said I could try my luck there.

I was directed to a voice message.

"For English, please dial 1. Chinese, dial 2.......for applying for higher officers, please dial 1. Police officers, please dial 2..." and so on. Finally after many pressing of 1, 2 or 3 I was finally directed to their hotline where I could finally talk to the officer on the next line. There I was met with this response. " I am very sorry but the line is very busy at the moment. Please try again later."

If you are wondering whether I did succeed in calling back or whether I tried again, well, my clue to you is I am not a very patient man. It is so hard to be a 'hao ren' nowadays.
