Wah! Alone ar! So loser ar?

I was out in Jurong point alone getting some stuff when I saw an old classmate of mine. Her first remark on seeing me was, "Wah! Alone ar! So loser ar?" Although I was grateful that she never commented on me putting on so much weight since the last time she saw me, I was nevertheless quite pissed off by her loud remarks. Suddenly a lot of eyes turned to me, making me almost attemptting to dig a hole and hide my face. Yah. So what if I am alone. You don't have to announce to the whole world right?

We exchanged the usual conversation like 'what u doing now', 'how's life', 'you still see that Janice around' and etc and parted ways. We didn't try to meet up again since we were more like hi-bye friends in Secondary School. Come to think of it, I don't even remember her name. And of course, I was polite enough not to scold her a loser because SHE WAS ALSO ALONE.

Now, really, is it wrong to go out alone? I mean I admit most people hang out in groups but it isn't a sin to be out alone right? Ever since my graduation(almost) from Poly, I have been idling. Most of my peers have already found part-time jobs or are already working or in NS and are of course, not as free as me. But that's beside the point. I truely enjoy being out alone as much as in company with my friends.

You see, when you go shopping alone, you don't have to bother too much about your peers not happy at waiting for you too long at a particular shop. Neither do you need to wait for your friend slowly browsing in the shop. You can take your own sweet time to browse without the worry of putting too much inconvenience on other people. You will not need to put up with worthless comments from other people like 'Eee,so ugly. Why you wanna buy it for?' That is as good as commenting that you have poor taste.

I watch movies alone at times too. I really do feel very comfortable and not a bit weird about it. Because you see, many people have different tastes and likeliness for certain movies. A good movie to me may not be a good one to you and vise versa. Also by watching alone you wouldn't need to suit everyone's time slots and arrange a time where everyone can make it. But well, I wouldn't go out specially alone just for a movie. I only do so when I happened to pass by a cinema and it happens to have a show I watched to watch that suits my time.

I dine alone too. That is what happens to me almost everyday. When I wake up in late afternoon, very often there is no food in the house and thus I have to walk to the market or the coffee shop down my block myself to get my lunch or dinner. One of my favorite things I love to do is to sit down with my friends and lunch together and gossip to whilst the time away. But I don't have much of a choice since I led a livestyle very different from other people whereby everyone is working while I am an entrepunter(refer to previous post).

I do know of some people who wouldn't step out of their house unless they have company. Which means they don't shop, see movies nor dine alone. It seems that it is not right to do so. (So I presume they wank in a group as well?) Haha, whatever lah. Everyone has their different lifestyles and and living habits and I am not going to argue with anyone about that. But to me, I think it is more tragic to go hungry than dining alone. Really. Esp going hungry.

Of course, I certainly don't mind someone to go shop, dine or to the movies with me as I said I enjoy doing these stuff alone as much as doing it with company. But there's a catch.
